Laser level (Laserlevel )

Laserlevel  is a fundamental tool that is very useful whether you are building a house, installing a fence, or just hanging a picture frame in your house. A Laser level determines if a plane is perfectly horizontal or vertical. Owning a basic level is fine if you only need it a few times a year, but what if your job was installing decks or flooring on a daily basis where measuring and using a level was essential to the jobs success.

The features of Laser Level Products:

  • Automatically levels providing perfectly vertical (plumb) and horizontal lines.
  • Hanging pin fastens unit to the wall for hands free convenience.
  • Lines lock into position for perfectly square (90 deg.) lines on any surface.
  • It is able to rotate 360 degrees and can mark level on all surrounding walls.
  • Includes target cone to help illuminate line.
  • Includes battery and storage case with belt loop.

The old vial levels had the glass vial filled with small air bubbles that floated left, right, up, or down as you adjusted the level to get things straight. The new sensor levels, or laser levels, use light indicators or sound to let you know when a surface is level. Some more expensive laser levels are capable of projecting lines at particular angles relative to the level plane which makes them the ideal tool for short-distance surveying.

Types and Usage of Laser level:

There are several type of laser levels. There are levels with a rotating motor that creates the illusion of a line. Then there are the newer levels with a fixed lens to create the line. These lasers do not need a tripod all the time. They can be mounted on the wall or the actual surface the beam is projected on.

The rotating laser requires a tripod.  In surveying, and construction the laser level is affixed to a tripod, levelled and then spun to illuminate a horizontal plane. The laser beam projector employs a rotating head with a mirror for sweeping the laser beam about a vertical axis. If the mirror is not self-leveling, it is provided with visually readable level vials and manually adjustable screws for orienting the projector. A staff carried by the operator is equipped with a moveable sensor which can detect the laser beam and gives a signal when the sensor is in line with the beam (usually an audible beep). The position of the sensor on the graduated staff allows comparison of elevations between different points on the terrain.

A tower-mounted laser level is used in combination with a sensor on a wheel tractor-scraper in the process of land laser leveling to bring land (for example, an agricultural field) to near-flatness with a slight grade for drainage.
